Heather is a member of both our commercial leasing and commercial real estate teams. She provides a thoughtful, business-centric approach to client service. Heather joined Daoust Vukovich LLP as an associate after working at the firm as both an articling student and a summer student. Heather was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2021.
Heather graduated with a joint JD-MBA from the University of Ottawa and the Telfer School of Management, where she received the Mariella Amaros JD-MBA Scholarship for academic excellence and the Honourable Robert René De Cotret Commemorative Fund Scholarship for academic merit. Prior to attending law school, Heather obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Development from McGill University.
Throughout her time in law school, Heather was involved as an editor for both the Ottawa Law Review and the Canadian Journal of Women and the Law.
The rule against perpetuities (the “Rule”) is complex and frequently misunderstood, and a dreaded topic on a law school exam. The Rule was recently considered by the Ontario Court of Appeal (the “ONCA”) in Ottawa (City) v. ClubLink Corporation ULC, 2021 ONCA 847.
