Christine's practice focuses on commercial leasing. She has extensive experience drafting and negotiating all forms of leases and ancillary agreements in retail, office and industrial properties. Her practice is also comprised of various real estate related construction, design, and telecommunications transactions, including bespoke master contracts and negotiating industry standard forms (such as the CCDC, OAA, etc.).
Christine worked at DV as both an articling student and a summer student. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in June 2022.
Prior to her articling term, Christine completed her Juris Doctor at Queen’s University, Faculty of Law, where she was awarded the first-place award in Telecommunications Law. She was also Associate Editor of the Queen’s Law Journal and the team lead of various projects for Pro Bono Students Canada. Prior to attending law school, Christine obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the Schulich School of Business.
Christine is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations and the “Next Generation” chapter of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). She is also a member of the Armenian Bar Association's Board of Directors (Ontario Chapter).
Careful consideration is owed to how a tenant’s removal and restoration obligations are expressed under a lease. The scope of each partes’ goals (and ultimately, their obligation) are a product of the tenancy at hand. While boilerplate obligations might be a good starting point, adjustment may be required to account for unique circumstances and to curb potentially unintended or undesirable outcomes.
