After 40 years as a lawyer, including 23 years at Daoust Vukovich LLP, it is with mixed feelings that we announce Jeanne Banka’s retirement.
Consistently recognized and recommended as a “Best Lawyer” in Property Leasing, Jeanne has spent her career first as in-house counsel and then in private practice; drafting, reviewing and negotiating thousands of leases. Jeanne also lectured and wrote frequently on commercial leasing topics. She is an expert in her field.
Jeanne is also a strong advocate for women. Through over 20 years of membership in Toronto Commercial Real Estate Women (Toronto CREW) and as a Champion of the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), she has encouraged young women to become leaders in their industry, get outside their comfort zone and take on new challenges. Jeanne herself is a leader who has always willingly given her time and mentorship to others.
“It has been an honour to be a member of Canada’s preeminent and sole commercial leasing law boutique. I would like to thank my partners and the DV staff for their support, collegiality and generosity in making my career at DV a fulfilling and rewarding one and I wish the firm continued success,” says Jeanne.
We would like to sincerely thank Jeanne for her many contributions to DV’s success, her quiet leadership and dedication. Although Jeanne will be greatly missed, we at Daoust Vukovich LLP wish Jeanne much health and happiness as she moves on to the new and exciting experiences that lie ahead. Jeanne’s legacy will live on in the lawyers that she has worked alongside and inspired over the years.
